How to choose travel insurance?

Having reliable travel insurance for all my trips is something I consider an absolute necessity, and I wouldn’t embark on even a one-day trip to our neighbors, like to Saxon Switzerland, without it. You never know what might happen, and as they say, “Chance favors the prepared mind.”

In my circle, I encounter people who hold the opposite view and adhere to the belief that “I’m not a fool, nothing can happen to me… I won’t just throw away a few hundred bucks like that…”

Unfortunately, there are plenty of cases where people have gotten into financial trouble precisely because they tried to save a few bucks—whether it’s for expensive medical care, compensation for damage caused, or just getting their broken-down car towed from abroad…

Of course, nobody wishes to find themselves in a situation where they need to claim insurance, but when it comes down to it, it’s good to have someone who has your back. Since I started traveling on my own, I’ve always relied on travel insurance from AXA.

Certainly, cheaper alternatives can be found, but when choosing insurance, it’s necessary to carefully study the terms of coverage and the level of coverage for medical expenses, property damage coverage, compensation for loss of personal belongings and luggage, etc. Based on these criteria, AXA travel insurance stands out to me as the best option among all offers. They offer various graded options, which naturally vary in price and coverage amount. In most cases, I opt for the highest Excelent variant, especially when traveling to more expensive destinations or to the mountains where the risk of injury is higher.

Another reason why I chose AXA insurance for my travels is the option to purchase additional services:

Roadside assistance. They ensure towing of the car to the nearest service, accommodation in a hotel for passengers during repairs, or potentially towing the car back to the Czech Republic.

Rental car, motorcycle, or scooter insurance. In case of an accident, they cover the deductible for damage to the vehicle.

Insurance for risky sports. Here, I recommend carefully studying the conditions to see which sports are covered and which are not.

There are plenty of additional services available, and for a few extra bucks, one can save themselves worries and fully enjoy their travels.

If you also decide to go for AXA insurance, you can use my affiliate link to get a 50% discount on travel insurance.

This offer is advantageous for both parties (WIN-WIN). You’ll get an instant discount on travel insurance through the link, and you’ll also be helping me in my work by earning a small commission for the facilitated insurance (the commission is paid from the insurer’s profit, so your insurance premium remains unaffected).
